The Krepps Dog Park is a large, fenced dog park located directly behind Krepps shelter. You can find free parking at the shelter there and follow the trailhead to the off-leash dog park. The grounds here at Krepps Dog Park are separated into sections for large canines and small breeds.Â
The grounds are of a woods biome and provides a nice atmosphere and ambiance to the entire area. Krepps Dog Park is mostly dirt, and there is very little grass covering the grounds, your canine is likely to leave this park quite dirty. Those issues are compounded after a heavy rainfall as all that dirt turns to mud.
The trees limit some games like fetch, but there is certainly enough space here for your canine to stretch their legs and get in a lot of exercise with the other canines at the Krepps Dog Park. Your canine will likely leave quite tired. Outside of the fenced dog park, your canine is required to remain on a leash. That being said, there is much more to this park for those who wish to explore it.Â
Further down Krepp Trail, there is a small creek and a ton of paths that wind through the woods located here. There are enough trails and paths to get a pleasant walk in and wear out even the most energetic canine, all with gorgeous scenery and natural shade provided by the trees that loom overhead.
Many trees line the Krepps Dog Park and can be found inside the fenced area. This produces a lot of shade for the visitors of the park. Benches can be located underneath several of the more massive trees, but overall is quite limited. It may be best for you to bring your seating if you require it.
The Krepps Dog Park is open year-round, but much of the maintenance and upkeep is suspended during the winter months. During that time, water is turned off, and you will want to bring your poop bags. This park is a small treasure for the Morgantown area!
