Though recent upgrades to the park include the addition of blackout materials to the fencing to discourage inappropriate greetings which could lead to overarousal, it is not known if a small dog area has been constructed at this dog playground. Though Las Cruces Dog Park does welcome off-leash activity in its generous dog run, owners must ensure they have access to a leash at all times.
To encourage as many dogs and their owners to visit Las Cruces Dog Park as possible, the park management team is pleased to offer entrance to their facility free of charge. However, with planned upgrades in progress, donations are gratefully accepted and put to good use to improve the existing space.
The Las Cruces Dog Park Coalition is currently fundraising towards the addition of the following items to the play space: agility equipment, a bulletin board announcing park events and regulations, and solar lighting to enable dogs and their owners to better enjoy the park at night.
On-site amenities at this dog park include comfortable seating in shaded areas, drinking water, and a bathtub to allow owners to clean up their dogs after a day of vigorous play on the dog playground. Poop bags are provided on the premises, and owners are asked to make use of them to clean up after their pets.
Bathrooms are not housed on the grounds. Visitors to this dog playground lament that it is occasionally frequented by aggressive dogs. Caution should be exercised to ensure all dogs making use of the play areas are friendly before allowing your dog to enter the grounds.
Las Cruces Dog Park has instituted several regulations regarding the use of their park space. It is mandatory that all dogs enjoying the park must be spayed or neutered. In addition to this, up to date vaccinations and dog licensing is required, and evidence of both most be seen via tags on your dog's collar. For a day of fun at a great New Mexico park, make a visit to Las Cruces Dog Park!
