Description

Manzano Mountains State Park is a 741-acre park that occupies a gorgeous portion of the Manzano foothills. The area is known for several rare species of birds that regularly attract nature enthusiasts, as well as several rocky outcroppings that are the perfect places for some outdoor photography.

If you're looking to get out for a hike, Manzano Mountains State Park has 3.5 total miles of trails to explore. These trails contain several nature platforms, from which you can check out the surrounding mountain scenery. These platforms come complete with refuse bins, benches, and message boards with information about the landscape you're currently exploring.

If you'd like to bring your canine along for your hike, make sure you keep them on a leash eight feet in length or shorter. Make sure to bring baggies and whatever you might need to take care of any waste your canine might leave behind. For overnight guests, there are 23 fully developed campsites to come and enjoy.

These sites are all equipped with both water and electrical hookups, for those guests who decided to come in a camper on RV. In addition to these 23 sites, there are nine deluxe sites available that include individual bathrooms and free extended parking.

The traditional sites are adjacent to public restroom facilities as well as free showers, available to all overnight guests. If you're looking to keep your canine with you as you spend the evening, make sure you keep them on a restraint throughout their stay. Dogs are barred from entering any of the public restroom facilities.

Group pavilions are available for rental here, including a 120-occupancy lodge perfect for business retreats or parties. These come standard with bathroom facilities and a kitchenette. To find more information on how to access these rentals, make sure to check out the New Mexico State Parks' website.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
