There is no water source, so please bring your own water. You can contribute by filling large water bottles and bringing them with you so you can share the water with all the pups. This park is cared for by community members of the McCarren Dog Run Association, who help maintain the park and keep it a prime spot for the pack. Be sure to do your part and bring some waste bags to clean up after your dog.Â
The park has benches and tables for you to sit at while you watch your pup and talk to other owners. Be mindful of your pup's interactions and make sure he is not exhibiting any aggressive behavior. There is a small dog section and a large dog section, so your dogs can play with someone their own size.Â
Dogs in New York City must be vaccinated against rabies and be wearing their license at all times. Make sure your dog wears his collar with ID tag and rabies tag. Your dog must remain on a leash until he is in the fenced-in dog park; when he is outside of the dog park, the leash cannot be longer than six feet. Your dog needs to respond to your command and chasing squirrels, birds, or other small animals is discouraged, as is excessive barking.Â
