Memphis Dog Park (near Tobey Park)

Memphis Dog Park, housed on the same property as Frank Tobey Park, is located in Memphis, Tennessee. This dedicated dog playground bears the distinction of being Memphis' first dog park and is situated approximately one mile from the Cooper-Young residential area and near to the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Housed on the grounds are two fenced runs where off-leash play is both welcomed and encouraged. 

One of the two enclosures has been designed explicitly for use by small, shy, and senior dogs. In this run, dogs can enjoy off-leash activity and socialization with dogs that are better-suited to their size, personality, and age. This dramatically reduces the chances of injury or accident. However, they also place safety as their top priority. With this in mind, owners must ensure that they always have ready access to a lead in case it is needed. Entrance to the ground is permitted at no cost to pooches and their people. 

The dog runs at the Memphis Dog Park are equipped with several amenities including drinking water, benches, agility equipment, and biodegradable poop bags. Owners are asked to display responsible pet ownership by cleaning up after their pets in a prompt fashion. Nearby Tobey Park also offers a skate park for families to enjoy. It is unknown if bathrooms are housed on the grounds.
