Description
Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area finds its home in Salt Lake City, Utah. This naturally landscaped area offers a multitude of hiking trails meandering over varied terrain including some with steep inclines and high elevations sure to provide an excellent workout for Fido and his family.

Off-leash activity is permitted at Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area; however, it is only on odd-numbered days of the calendar month. On even-numbered days, dogs may still enjoy some exercise on the canyon trails, but they must remain on a lead.

Additionally, dogs are to be leashed in all areas considered to be "high traffic" including parking lots, picnic areas, and campsites. Leads are not to exceed six feet in length. Owners should take note that there is not a fenced play area on the premises. Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area is considered part of the well-known Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

In accordance with Utah state law, dogs are permitted access to all National Forest Wilderness properties but not to National State Parks. This beautiful public facility charges no fee to access their grounds; however, there is a cost for parking. A daily permit is available for $3, and yearly passes can be purchased for $40.

Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area offers five main trails that dogs can enjoy with their owners. These include Big Water, Great Western, Little Water, Neff's Canyon, and Pipeline. It's important to note that many of these trails are extremely strenuous.

With this in mind, it is critical that owners pack sufficient drinking water for them and their dogs. Poop bags are not provided, and thus, owners should bring some from home with them. It is required by law that all owners display responsible pet ownership by cleaning up after their dogs. It is unknown if bathrooms are available for public use at this property.

Dogs enjoying off-leash time on the properly designated days must be under the voice control of their owners and kept visible at all times. There is a zero-tolerance policy for aggression, and dogs who lack a sufficient recall should be kept leashed for the well-being and safety of all. Dogs are permitted to join their owners in the on-premise campsites.

Park officials have mandated that there are to be no more than two dogs per campground. Additionally, dogs must remain leashed in these areas and strictly forbidden from any beach sections of the property. There are no officially posted regulations for those visiting Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area.

However, it is wise to assume that current dog vaccinations are expected, and a city dog license is appreciated. For a day reconnecting with nature in a beautifully landscaped setting, why not bring Fido and the family to Millcreek Canyon Off-Leash Dog Area?
