Within Clackamas County, Oregon, there is a quaint city called Canby that was once known as Baker Prairie. This is a friendly town filled with amazing people and their four-legged friends. The City of Canby is not far from Portland either! It’s just 25 miles outside of Portland, Oregon. Canby is a wondrous scenic-view city that often is called the City Of Gardens. The city also has a wonderful state park that both dogs and their owners completely love to visit.
The Molalla River State Park has three rivers that conjoin the Molalla River, Pudding River, and Willamette River that just adds to the amazing natural views of this state park. The state park has an area just for your pooch to run, play, sniff and socialize in, all while off-leash. This off-leash area is one of the larger off-leash doggie havens in the area.Â
So, you and your dog can enjoy a whole lot of fun and exercise at this park. The area is not fenced in, so it is highly recommended that your dog be good with voice commands and that you maintain control of your pup at all times. Outside of the off-leash zone you and your dog can explore the trails and the rest of the grounds, as long as your pooch remains leashed.
Keep in mind that that the dog area does offer doggie waste bags for your pup and freshwater, just in case your dog gets thirsty. Throughout the rest of the state park, there are places to sit, shaded areas and picnicking areas for you and pooch to relax and take in all of the beautiful scenery. Oregon is a rugged outdoor world of fun to be explored at every corner, and in Canby, there is no exception. You and your beloved four-legged are sure to love exploring this awesome state park and dog off-leash area.
