This park is relatively decently sized, and the ground is separated into separate sections for large canines and small canines, with the dividing line set at a 35 lb weight.
Water is available here in the form of a waterspout. Be sure to bring your bowl so your canine can remain hydrated. The park is lit and is open into the evening after sunset for those who work odd or long hours. Parking for this dog park is available right next to the fence, but you are still required to keep your canine on a leash until they are inside the designated off-leash zone.
The Moncrief Dog Park itself is grass and stays very well maintained during the spring and summer months. Large trees line the park, and a few are spattered inside the fenced area. These trees provide a good amount of shade through the hottest parts of the day.
Near the entrance and scattered throughout the park are a few picnic tables and benches for seating. Seats are also placed along the fence line at regular intervals for accommodation. Poop bags are available at the entrance as well, and a garbage can is situated right inside the fenced area.
Moncrief Park, the park that surrounds the Starville Dog Park, also has several nice features. The park has public restrooms for your convenience. Your children will also find quite a large playground available. Overall, this park makes for a great place to bring the family on a hot day so they can run around and burn off some energy, children of the fur and non-fur varieties.
