Description

Prescott Valley, Arizona is one of the state’s fastest-growing towns, located a couple of hours north of Phoenix and ten minutes from Prescott National Forest. Mountain Valley Park is the town’s largest and most popular recreational park, boasting a public swimming pool, skate park facility, and dog park.

Although the dog park is part of Mountain Valley Park, it also goes by Prescott Valley Dog Park, the name by which locals recognize it. Mountain Valley Park is a 69-acre outdoor recreational space, and the dog park is a 2-acre plot where dogs are allowed to play off-leash.

The play area is fully fenced and features two separate enclosures where small dogs and large dogs romp among similar-sized friends. Each of the dog runs have obstacle courses for owners and dogs to play through, and there are plenty of shaded benches around in case you get tired of chasing your dog through tubes and over bars.

The park also supplies water, doggy water fountains, bathrooms, and a large picnic area covered by a gazebo. Between these amenities and all that the rest of Mountain Valley Park has to offer, you could easily plan a day trip with family, friends, and dogs if you desired.

The Town of Prescott Valley owns and maintains Mountain Valley Park, and common courtesy rules ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the dog park and its facilities. Poop bags and dispensers are provided on site, and you will be highly encouraged to pick up after your dog if you do not do so right away.

The local people and dogs are friendly and kind, and many reports say that the dog park is oftentimes the busiest area of Mountain Valley Park on nice days. Come prepared to socialize, play, and spend a good amount of time interacting with local dogs and people.

The Prescott Valley Dog Park has it all, and you will not have anything to worry about as you and your dog run and play with all that the park has to offer. And when you are both good and tired out, you can take a dip in the swimming pool!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
