Owners are asked to respect the enclosure reserved for small dog use and not attempt to take larger dogs into the space. The dog runs contain a number of amenities to make Fido's time at the park memorable. Included on the grounds is agility equipment, a splash pad and several pools, doggy water fountains, and paved walking paths.
Access to NOLA City Bark is reserved for owners and their dogs who have obtained park permits. Available at the Dog Park Office at 1 Palm Drive, permit packages can be purchased to meet the needs of each owner. For those simply visiting the area, a permit which allows access to the facilities for one week costs $10 with a two-week pass available for $15. Alternatively, yearly permits cost $48 for the first dog and $53 for multi-dog households. Members of the Friends of City Park receive a $5 discount off membership fees.
At the time of registration, owners are required to furnish proof of the following vaccinations: rabies, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvovirus, and bordetella. All vaccinations must be administered yearly except for bordetella which is to be given twice annually. Dogs must also wear an appropriate collar with their rabies and identification tags prominently displayed. Prong and choke collars are not permitted.
Housed on the property for the convenience of owners are benches, bathrooms, and pooper scoopers. Owners are encouraged to bring poop bags with them in case the park is in short supply. A city license tag is also recommended. For a visit to a dog park that Fido will never forget, bring him to NOLA City Bark!
