Raising Cane’s Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Greenwood Community Park in Baker, Louisiana. In addition to the dog park, the 390-acre community park is home to a golf course and disc golf course, a recreation center, a splash pad, tennis courts, an 18-acre lake and boat rental facility and so much more.Â
There are numerous nature paths and hiking trails running throughout the wooded park that dogs are welcome on, as long as they are leashed. It is an excellent location for dog walks as well as jogging, especially since there is an outdoor fitness station. The Raising Cane’s dog park is located on the right-hand side as you drive into the community park, before the tennis court.
The spacious dog park was opened in 2011 and has since become a local favorite for canine socialization and leash-free exercise. It has a well-thought-out layout that consists of two separate areas for dogs to run around in. One is meant for small dog breeds while the other accommodates the large hounds. Both provide plenty of space for canines to stretch their legs, explore, and play games of fetch.Â
This securely fenced dog park is equipped with a water fountain so owners won't need to worry about their pooches staying hydrated. Since there are tons of trees growing throughout the park, finding shade won't be a problem either, especially since there is a shaded pavilion in the off-leash area for owners to relax in while they keep an eye on their canine companions.Â
The park's well-maintained terrain consists of grass, and it is beautifully landscaped. The Raising Cane's Dog Park is a must visit for the whole family as every single family member will find some fun activity to do or take part in at the Greenwood Community Park, not just the four-legged ones.
