The fenced-in park has a double-gated entry for safety, and make sure Fido stays on a leash until he is in the park. The park has few amenities, so please bring your own waste bags to clean up after Fido. If your pup likes to play fetch, bring a ball for him to chase around as there are no permanent toys or features for your pup to play with.Â
Make sure when you take Fido to the dog run that he is healthy and up-to-date on his vaccinations and is wearing his collar with his ID tag and license. He should be able to respond to your call and do not encourage excessive barking or chasing squirrels or other small animals.Â
If you want to explore the rest of Owl's Head Park with Fido, put him on his leash and go for an adventure. Owl's Head Park features trails, courts, a skate park, and walkways for you to check out. Make sure your dog does not go on or into courts, skate parks, or playgrounds, as NYC rules prohibit dogs from those areas. While the trails in the park might take you away from the sounds of the city, the dog run is near the Belt Parkway, so you might hear some sounds of traffic as Fido runs around.Â
