This makes for a great family stop and is a nice detour off the coastal roads. This park is not specifically a dog park, and as such does not have a fenced off area for your dog to be off leash. Many of the other amenities you might find at a local dog park are also non-existent. There are no bags available or watering holes for your dog. That being said, restrooms are available and water fountains are around if you bring your own bowl.
Camping is available here and along the coastline. The park itself is relatively small but as most of it is along the coastline there is plenty of room for games with your canine, including longer-range games like playing frisbee. Make sure your canine stays within eyesight and under voice control at all times. A standard campsite runs $15, and one wired up with electricity costs $21. There is a charge of another $10 for additional vehicles and some small fee's for dump sites and featured campsites.
The park beaches here are available at no cost for day use, the staff simply asks you to contact them for groups and large parties so they can organize parking for everyone. It is hard to find good waterfront campsites across the United States, especially at a reasonable price and the amenities available that this park has. Overall this is a great place to take your canine friend for either a day trip or for a weekend out camping with family and friends.
