Ridge Road Recreational Park features a basketball field, baseball field, a playground, softball field, football field, tennis court, volleyball court, in-line hockey rink and a dog park on 56 acres of land. There is a network of natural and hard surfaces trails which can accommodate bikers and hikers.
Your furry friends will love the enclosed areas for them to play in. The half-acre fenced dog park is a place for county residents to play. In June 2003, the park became the third M-NCPPC park to open a dog exercise area in Montgomery. It has become a favorite meeting spot and exercise area for local pet parents and their furbabies.
There is a restroom that sits between shelters A and B. Restrooms are also available at the in-line hockey rink so you need not hurry home with your pup should you need to use the toilet. The downside to the park is the lack of separate areas for large canines and small dogs, so pet parents have to be vigilant and watch over their little pups to avoid injuries and accidents.
The gravel in the has caused some dogs pads to blister and open so it will be better if there are has more grass. There are dog scoopers for free, but sometimes they run out, so it is best for pet parents to bring some. There is not much shade so you might want to bring an umbrella if you go during hot afternoons.
There is no water well or water fountain in the park so pet parents must bring some to ensure that they do not end up getting dehydrated. There are benches where pet parents can sit while supervising their pooches. As the park is very basic, pet parents might also want to consider bringing a few dog toys to share.
