Sometimes called the Riverfront Park Dog Park, the Downtown Dog Park is a fenced 13,000 square foot section that's pawfect for off-leash play. The park is landscaped beautifully, with environmentally friendly turf in the middle surrounded by gravel, which means your dog can play even when it rains without getting muddy! Water is provided via fountains, but you will need to bring your own clean-up bags from home. This woofderful doggy playground also has lots of picnic tables and log benches where you can relax while watching all the action.
Since there isn't any parking for this area, many visitors to the park live nearby. You'll need to find a spot and take a walk to get to the dog park if you are driving in, but a stroll along the waterfront is pawtastic indeed! There's also no shade, so be cautious on particularly hot days and keep your dog hydrated. Also be aware that the dog park is located next to train tracks, which may startle nervous dogs.
Other wooftastic things found at the family-centric West Riverfront Park include the Ascend Amphitheater, solar charging stations, porch swings, and even botanical gardens. You will even find that this park has free Wi-fi in various locations, allowing you to share photos of your fave pooch and the fam with your furiends on social media right from the comfort of your park bench.
For a day of fun under the Nashville sun, plan to stop by Riverfront Park Dog Park. Fido and the whole fam will give it two paws up, for sure!
