Description

Tacoma, Washington's Rogers Dog Park is one of several Metroparks in the city. These dedicated dog facilities proudly offer off-leash areas within established recreational attractions throughout the Tacoma region. The mandate of the Metroparks association is to provide safe spaces where dogs can partake in appropriate socialization opportunities and enjoy regular exercise without the need for a leash.

Rogers Dog Park is home to one fenced play area which offers 1.5 acres of land for dogs to explore. At this time, there is not a section specifically for use by small, elderly, or timid dogs. However, all dogs are invited to enjoy this picturesque doggy play haven regardless of size or breed. To be certain all safety measures are in place, owners must also carry a lead with them.

While dogs are permitted to enjoy off-leash activity within designated areas, they are required to remain on a lead in all other sections of Rogers Park. Rogers Dog Park is situated within the 2.4-acre property of the family-friendly Rogers Park. A public facility, entrance to both parks is offered to all dogs and their families at no cost.

The enclosure contains a fountain to ensure Fido and his friends have access to a cool drink when needed. Also on the grounds are benches and sun shelters where families can beat the heat while observing their dogs at play. It is unknown if poop bags are provided on the grounds. However, as an act of responsible dog ownership, all owners should bring bags with them from home and take the initiative to clean up after their pets.

This is an immeasurable help to park officials who endeavor to keep Rogers Dog Park a clean, safe, and attractive environment for all. Also housed on the grounds for families to enjoy is a stunningly beautiful community garden and a playground. There are very few rules in place governing the use of this park space.

Washington law does require all dogs frequenting public places to be current on vaccinations and properly licensed. Rogers Dog Park also forbids any items on wheels, such as skateboards, strollers, or bicycles, to be brought into the play spaces. Looking for a new place for Fido to enjoy a great run? Plan a visit to Rogers Dog Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
