This park would be quite susceptible to the sun if it weren't for the pavilion they installed. The building itself is quite large, big enough to cover two large picnic tables which provide nice seating in the shade. Lining the fence of the park, you can find bench seating, and in a combination of what is under the pavilion, there is plenty of places to sit for everyone.
There are doggie bags available right inside the entrance right beside a garbage can in case you forgot to bring your own. The Sedona Dog Park is all dirt so your canine may get covered if they are ones that like to roll. This park can get quite muddy in the event of heavy rain but typically dries off quite quickly.
In the back of the Sedona Dog Park, there is a large section with some reasonably rugged hiking. This whole section is fenced in as well so you can feel free to let your dog explore. The fence is relatively close, so even though they might get behind some rocks or vegetation, they will remain within voice control at all times.
The whole fenced-in section of this park is just a tad bit under two acres. There is room to play some games like fetch with just a little bit of care that you don't throw it over the fence. If you are a resident of the surrounding area or just traveling through town, this dog park makes for a great place to stop and relax with your canine. It would make for an excellent place to stay for a picnic, but you may get a few beggars.
