Seton Dog Park

The Seton Dog Park is a fenced off section in the Bronx, NY off of Independence Avenue and West 235th Street. Also called the Spuyton Duyvil Dog Park, this off-leash section has almost no vegetation and is covered in dirt. Without grass or mulch, your canine is likely to get quite dirty if they play in the dirt. However, there is a second fenced area covered in mulch if your dog (and you) prefer that type of surface. 

The size of this dog area used to be an issue because it was quite small, and if an off-leash area is for them to be able to run and play, it did not fit that bill for larger dogs. Although it was fine for small dogs. Within the last couple of years, the city and parkgoers got together and improved upon the park and many say that this is one of the best parks in the area. 

The Seton Dog Park is definitely popular. The community has come together here to really step up this park. Some maintenance issues have been handled by the people who frequent the park. They also have donated a variety of balls and toys, chairs, and even occasionally splash pools. They also have a cooler available with water for your canine as well as dog bowls.

Adjacent to this dog run is a larger park and your canine is allowed at that park but must remain on a leash at all times. There are also restrooms available there that you can fill a bowl up of water for your canine for the occasional times the water cooler is empty.
