South Cumberland State Park is a recreational facility which offers deep woods camping in Monteagle, Tennessee. This much-loved family vacation spot offers 30,485 acres of property spread out over nine areas and encompassing the four counties of Grundy, Franklin, Marion, and Sequatchie.Â
With over 90 miles of hiking trails on offer of varying intensities, there is something at South Cumberland State Park to suit the fitness levels of every member of the family. Though there is no designated dog play area at South Cumberland State Park, dogs are warmly welcomed to join their owners on any of the park's trails so long as they remain on a leash at all times.Â
There are no on-site amenities provided for dogs. With this in mind, owners must come prepared with all of the things they may want for a great day at the park such as water, a dog dish, lawn chairs, and poop bags. The responsibility for all canine waste removal rests with each owner. It is unknown if bathrooms are housed on the premises for public use.Â
South Cumberland State Park is a public recreational area, and access to the property is provided to all people and their pooches at no cost. Dogs visiting South Cumberland State Park must be current on all immunizations. A city dog license is also mandatory.
