The Cove Palisades State Park

The Cove Palisades State Park has a fenced off-leash dog exercise area and campgrounds that welcome pets. They also have dog-friendly cabins available to rent in the camping area. All dogs that visit this state park and campgrounds need to be vaccinated and have a license. Proof of both can be displayed on their dog’s collar. 

The campground at the Cove Palisades State Park has three groupings of tent areas, 85 full-hookup sites, 91 tents, water located nearby the campsites, hot showers, flush toilets, fish cleaning station, firewood available for sale, and an outdoor amphitheater. 

Dogs must stay on a leash unless they are in an off-leash area in the Cove Palisades State Park. This beautiful park has plenty for the entire family to do and keep busy such as whale watching, scenic trails, and bikeways that provide a spectacular view of Lake Billy Chinook and cliffs that tower throughout the park. 

A popular option is the kayak tours that take you on an adventure around the park. Ask the tour guide for approval to bring your dog along. Dogs generally need to be trained or familiar with riding in a kayak. However, the state park office and tour guides for the kayak adventure need to approve or disapprove of bringing your dog along. 

This extraordinary park features rental services, recreational opportunities, a store, marina, restaurant, and full-service campground. Hikers will enjoy exploring 10 miles of trails that guide you through areas abundant with wildlife. Dogs will enjoy their adventure along with you as you camp, hike on trails and meet new friends at the off-leash dog park. 

The designated dog area allows your dog to run free in a safe environment and play with other dogs. The entire family will have fun at the dog park by playing a game of fetch with your dog as long as you bring along a ball or toys. Aggressive dogs need to be removed from the dog park on a leash by their pet parents at the first sign of hostile behavior.
