With plenty of parking, the Tolocana Beach State Recreation Site is a great spot to enjoy all the amenities of the communities of Tolovana Park and Cannon Beach, with lots of local boutiques and restaurants. The recreation site features its own stretch of sandy shoreline, which your beach pup will love! Best of all, well-behaved dogs who are good under voice command can go off leash on this beach. Be sure to always carry a leash with you, just in case, and always be in sight and in control of your adventure pup. Your doggo can romp in the sand and splash in the ocean waves with you, or just take in a little sun. Sometimes, you can even spot whales!
The best time to visit Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site is from July to August, as the rest of the year tends to be quite cool. Without any shade trees on the beach, you may want to bring an umbrella on really sunny days- however the skies in the area tend to be partly cloudy even in the summer.Ā
The Recreation Site offers picnic tables for a lovely seaside meal or snack, and human restrooms. Be sure to bring clean-up bags and pick up whatever your four-legged bestie leaves behind. Also bring water to share with your pup.Ā Note that dogs should be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they enterĀ the Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site. Keep your dog leashed when in the parking areas, or any other areas outside the Recreation Site's beach.
