Description
Valley Falls State Park is a property of historical significance in Fairmont, West Virginia. This beloved recreational space was originally purposed as a railroad community and was home to the thriving lumber and grist mill industry. Today, the 1,145 acres of land has been transformed into a picturesque park which pays homage to its roots as a working town.

Home to the Tygart Valley River, the property is hallmarked by four stunningly beautiful waterfalls. Valley Falls State Park also houses over 18 miles of hiking trails. Though there is no designated dog play space at this recreational haven, dogs are welcome to join their owners on the premises, but they must remain on a leash at all times.

There are no on-site amenities for dogs, and as such, owners should bring drinking water and poop bags with them. The responsibility for all pet waste cleanup lies with each owner. Valley Falls State Park, a public recreational area and camping site, is provided to people and their pooches at no cost.

Camping is available on the grounds via campsites and cabins. Cabin access is by reservation only and is fee-based. Valley Falls State Park is a tranquil place, and its plentiful bench-style seating and picnic tables make it the ideal spot for a light lunch and a little relaxation.

Among the many on-site attractions are biking, camping, hiking, fishing, and geocaching. This historic park property is also home to the Connoquenssing Sandstone rock formations which are breathtaking to behold. Visitors to this park space make note that the land is kept pristinely clean, and the grounds are well-maintained.

It is unknown if bathrooms are housed on the grounds, but given that camping is permitted on the premises, it is likely there are some available for public use. Dogs visiting Valley Falls State Park are to be current on all vaccinations. They are also required to have an up to date city dog license. For a day of fun at a great historic park property, plan to visit Valley Falls State Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
