Waupaca County Dog Park

Considerably large compared to other dog parks at 30 acres, the Waupaca Country Dog Park is an off-leash environment where dogs and their owners can hike and play without the worry of oncoming traffic or the beloved pet getting lost or running away. Located near the Waupaca Regional Recycling and Composting Center, the park is managed by the Waupaca County.

Also known as the Tails and Trails Dog Park, this off-leash haven is located west of the city of Waupaca in the heart of the popular Chain O’Lakes Recreational Area, which is famous for its clean and spring-fed lakes. The park can be easily accessed through Hwy 54 from Stevens Point or Hwys 10 and 22 from Appleton. 

One of the things people like most about the park is the ample parking in front of the main entrance. They need not worry about where to put their car should they decide to drive to the park with their pooch. There are numerous opportunities to exercise, socialize, learn and grow for dogs in an environment that is safe. There is a swimming pond for dogs, a wetlands area, and a 40,000 square foot liner. 

There is a fresh-water well to provide dogs and their owners alike a much-needed drink after running free and also an observation mound where dogs and their owners, as well as hikers, can enjoy stunning views. The park is quite strict and requires owners to carry a leash for each dog, pick up after their dog, and not leave their dogs unattended. All dogs must have current rabies and all other vaccinations as well.

There is a charge for using the park which goes to its maintenance. The annual membership fee is $35 but a day pass can be obtained for only $4 per dog or $10 daily for up to 3 dogs. When you purchase your annual membership, you will receive a tag for your dog in your mail. Membership is available through envelopes at the park, cash or checks sent to the Toto Foundation or online.
