The West Bend Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in the city of West Bend, Wisconsin. Located in the city's Rolfs Park, this dog park is a stunning ten acres of countryside where dogs can be legitimately exercised off-leash. Park rules require all dogs to remain leashed until reaching the designated zone.
This includes while walking from the parking lot. Even though this West Bend dog park covers such a considerable acreage, it is still fully fenced and has a smaller, completely separate section for timid and tiny mutts. There are multiple grassed areas for pups to explore, shady woodland and lots of trails.
More than enough to keep any pup happy for hours on end. But this dog park is not a free for all. Pet owners are required to purchase a user fee tag, which costs $25. These tags can be purchased at the dog park kiosk or from the city hall finance department. Dogs must wear the tag on their collar while they are at the park.
This is a very spacious dog park, but the ruling on taking multiple dogs inside is still quite strict. Owners may take two at a time and no more. All owners must carry a leash in hand for every dog they are exercising. Not doing so is violating state dog laws.
There are no excuses allowed for breaking the rules. Even if you've left your poop bags in your car, don't leave your dog unattended while you go and get them. Leash your dog and take them with you as the rules do not permit dogs to be left unattended in the off-leash areas for any reason.
This dog park is a credit to West Bend, and pet parents should consider themselves privileged they have such a beautiful place to spend time with their pup. Keeping the dog park clean and poop free is a priority. Do your part and don't let West Bend down by leaving poop on the ground.
