The West Chandler Dog Park, or as it is called now, Nozomi Dog Park is a public dog park located in the Nozomi Park in Chandler, Arizona. In addition to the dog park, the Nozomi Park is home to an aquatic center and swimming pools, a baseball field, a volleyball court and a playground. The dog park can be found on the north side of the park, opposite the volleyball court and pavilion by the playground area. The public restrooms are located within walking distance by the multi-purpose fields.Â
The West Chandler Dog Park is securely fenced with a six-foot high chain link fence and has a simple, open space layout for dogs to freely run around and play in. There are separate sections for big and small pooches. Both sections provide an adequate amount of space for canine exploration and agility equipment for dogs to train on, including a see-saw, some hurdles, a balance beam and a large A-frame.Â
You will find quite a few benches in the dog park which enables dog owners to remain comfortable while they keep their pooches in sight. There are also drinking fountains to keep both dogs and owners hydrated. The dog park is also equipped with free dog waste bag dispensers, pooper-scoopers and conveniently located trash cans which is why it is so well-maintained and clean.Â
If you visit this great dog park, make sure to do your part and clean up after your canine companion. Since there are not many trees growing within the off-leash areas there isn’t much shade other than in the shaded patio area, so please keep that in mind when you choose a day to visit this park with your furball. The park’s surface consists of a well-maintained, grass lawn which means playtime can get muddy when it rains, so don’t forget to bring a towel for your pooch's paws!
