Willow River State Park

Willow River State Park finds its home on 2,891 acres of naturally landscaped grounds in Hudson, Wisconsin. This family favorite destination earns high marks for its well-maintained property and impeccably groomed hiking trails. With over 17 miles of trails to explore, Fido is welcome to join his family for a day of hiking, but he must remain on a leash in all areas of Willow River State Park. 

There is no specific area reserved for dog play, and as such, there are no on-site amenities for dogs supplied. Owners should come equipped with water and poop bags. All pet waste removal is the responsibility of each owner. Willow River State Park is a private recreational facility and camping area. Entrance to the property is fee-based. 

A daily pass can be purchased for $10 for residents of Wisconsin and $13 for those residing elsewhere. Additionally, annual passes can be obtained for $28 for Wisconsin residents and $38 for all others. With the purchase of a pass, visitors are provided with a vehicle admission sticker; proof of which must be furnished to park officials to obtain entrance to the premises. 

Camping is available in the Wisconsin State Park System. Fees apply for campsite rentals, but it is not known what the precise costs are. Willow River State Park boasts of many on-site attractions for families to enjoy. Among the recreational opportunities are a playground and a boat launch. Drinking water is available on the grounds for both humans and canines. 

There is also a bathroom installed on the premises for public use. It is important to note that outside firewood is not permitted in any Wisconsin state park or camping facility due to the risk of disease from wood-eating insects. Willow River State Park supports Wisconsin law by requiring all pets enjoying their grounds to be current on vaccinations. A city dog license is also required.
