Andy Cove Nature Trail

Andy Cove Trail is about 30 miles from Asheville, North Carolina, making it the pawfect day-trip for you and Fido. This trail is on the shorter side, with the total length being less than one mile. The length, combined with the relaxed incline of the trail, makes it perfect for everyone, from novice hikers to experienced ones. Many locals also like how much fun this trail is for the whole family, including children and the furry family members. The trail starts just outside of the Pisgah District Ranger Station, so you can use their address if you have any issues locating the trail.

The views from the trail are absolutely breathtaking! One of the many suspension bridges on the trail actually runs over the Davidson River, so make sure you have your phone or camera with you to snap a picture or two. 

Although there is a lot of shade along the trail, as most of it is covered by densely-packed trees, it's still prone to the infamous Southern heat. The trail can be hot, and it's likely to be humid as well. Make sure you bring along plenty of water for both you and Fido. It also won't hurt to have some mosquito repellent on hand, especially during the summer. No one wants a fun hike ruined by insects!

Andy Cove Trail is dog-friendly. That being said, please make sure you clean up after Fido. The trail is so beautiful, and it'd be a shame if the beauty was ruined by stray dog poop left behind. Bags aren't provided, so bring a few of your own. Fifi must also be kept on a leash for the duration of your hike; you wouldn't want them running away from you.
