Would you and your pup be interested in a pawtastic hike in the central region of California? Look no further than the Arnold Rim Trail in the beautiful city of Arnold. Fido will be thrilled to hike here with their best friend!
The entire hike is 14.4 miles roundtrip, but you are able to pick and choose how much of this 7.4-mile out-and-back trail you would like to hike at each visit! To pick up the trailhead for this hike, you have four choices. The main entrance, where most people access the trail, is located at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum at White Pines Lake although trailheads at Cedar Center near the Arnold Black Bear Inn, Valley View on Valley View Drive, and the Avery Sheep Ranch on Avery Sheep Ranch Road. Any trailhead will put you on your way to an amazing adventure here.Â
Features of this trail are plentiful and all are pup-tastic! This pup-friendly hike will put you in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with scenic views of Mount Lyell and Mount Diablo. The footing is natural crushed bark, and leaves or dirt, which is easy on the paws. You will be treated to shaded cedar forests with ferns and native plants lining either side of the path. Canyons, streams and the magnificent San Antonio Falls will be your reward while hiking here.
This is a definite must-take-your-camera outing! There are plenty of opportunities to take some selfies with your fur-ever friend along this trail. Be sure to pack plenty of water and food for this hike. There are limited restroom access points, except at the surrounding buildings such as the museum at the main trailhead and other private locations at each trailhead, so plan accordingly.Â
Make the Arnold Rim Trail top on your hiking adventure to-do list with Fido in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountain region of California!
