Description
The Arroyo Sequit Loop Trail is a bark-friendly trail set among the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains just outside of Malibu, California. The Arroyo Sequit is a pawfect trail for all sizes of pups, as it is fairly easy with few moderate inclines near the end. The trail can be found ruff-ly six miles inland off the Mulholland Highway. There's enough parking for five vehicles, so make sure to go early and snag a spot! The Arroyo Sequit Loop is pawpular among doggies, but not only; equestrian riders and mountain bikers also share the trail. Per trail rules, one must give right of way to horse riders first, then hikers, and mountain bikers last.

The first quarter-mile of the Arroyo Sequit Loop Trail will be paved, but the remaining 1.5-mile loop features mainly dirt and grassland. You will immediately come across public bathrooms and a picnic area once the dirt path begins. Arroyo Sequit offers quaint, relaxing views of the Santa Monica mountains, valleys full of wildflowers, and a wooftastic waterfall in season. Occasionally you and your pup might have to cross small streams which run through the valley. The Arroyo Sequit Loop Trail also houses an observatory for late-night stargazers which is often used by students. The trail is shaded in parts thanks to towering trees overhead, but bring a hat to cover up just in case.

Remember to step aside and be courteous to passers-by along the trail! In addition to fellow trail explorers, keep an eye out for wildlife, such as rattlesnakes, ticks, and pesky plants such as poison oak and ivy. Also, there is no water access along the trail; make sure to carry some for you and your pup! If you and your pooch are woofing for a relaxing outdoor excursion, look no further than to the Arroyo Sequit Loop Trail for a day full of adventure!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

Cautions & Considerations
The park entrance is difficult to find so watch carefully (it will be on your right). The trail has lots of poison oak and ticks, so wear long pants and stick to the track. Rattlesnakes often bask in the sun along the trails. Keep your distance. Also, this trail requires several stream crossings, which might not be suitable for some dogs.
