Bluff Top Trail

If your pooch is in the mood for a mellow walk overlooking the Pacific Ocean, then the Bluff Top Trail is the perfect spot. Located in the coastal city of Palos Verdes Estates, this trail will put pep in your pup’s step as they trot along listening to the crashing waves.

This trail is one of many that showcase the beauty of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. As you may have guessed from the name, it meanders along the top of a rocky bluff that drops down into the ocean. A variety of shrubs line the pathway, but you won’t find many trees. This is good, as you don’t want anything blocking the puptacular ocean views. The trail runs near a neighborhood of luxury homes and estates, but it’s far enough away that you and your doggo can enjoy a peaceful walk. When the skies are clear, views of the distant Santa Monica Mountains can be seen. Your pal will love getting exercise while soaking in the vistas of Bluff Cove and the rugged coastline. For an extra pawsome experience, hit this trail in the evening and enjoy a famous West Coast sunset.

 A small public parking lot is located near the north end of the trail. You can hike this as an out and back trail. Or if your doggo has extra energy to burn, use the residential streets to connect to one of the nearby trails. Although this walk isn’t very long, bring water for your furry friend. There’s not much shade on the trail, so they’ll need a refreshing drink after their workout. Also, carry some clean up bags and do your part to keep the trail tidy. The salty sea breeze, furrific ocean views, and warm SoCal sunshine all combine to make this trail one your pooch will pawstively adore!
