Description

A gem of a park is just waiting for you to enjoy a hiking adventure in the city of Camarillo, California! Located in Camarillo Grove Park is the Camarillo Grove Park, featuring pup-friendly and pawtastic trails.

You will be treated to two loop trails and a shorter nature trail on your visit here. Pick up the trailhead to the Lower Loop Trail at the main parking entrance, where you will find other park amenities including picnic tables and restrooms. A short nature trail runs just to the west of the nature center which offers informational signs along the way indicating area flora and fauna.  Your pup will love hiking this gentle, level, natural surface path.

Hop on the actual Lower Loop trail which meanders for 0.4 miles. It is easy on the paws as it offers a gentle slope. You will be passing sagebrush and volcanic rock formations on this easy-rated trail. It is perfect for all pup-abilities, especially those new to hiking.

During your hike on the Lower Loop, you can connect to the Upper Loop and hike for just over 1 mile on this trail before it loops back to where you picked it up. Check out the beautiful cactus, native shrub and views of the Santa Monica Mountains. Be sure to give yourself and Fido plenty of rest breaks along this trail. Steep areas are frequent, so plan accordingly. This trail is rated as moderate to difficult, but since it is short, most any fit pup can manage just fine.

A great feature of this park is that it not only offers a dog park at the entrance, but weekdays is off-leash for all dogs on the trails! Weekends, your fur-ever friend must remain on leash.

Make the trails at Camarillo Grove Park your ticket to hiking fun!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
