You can pick up the trail at the Crestview Metro Rail Station. This pawsitively awesome walking path is nearly one mile in length and meanders along what is known as the MetroRail Red Line. The trees not only provide shade, but also offer some respite from the traffic and noise along Airport Boulevard, a busy stretch of roadway. The terrain remains relatively flat and is easy for peeps and pooches of all skill levels to navigate, and the trees along the walk keep you and your best canine pal nice and cool on your journey. Do keep Fido on his leash at all times in accordance with Austin city doggo by-laws.
The trail ends at Highland-Metro Rail Station, where you can embark on your next adventure, or head back the way you came. You will want to bring along some water and clean-up bags with you as none are provided along this urban trail.
Crestview/Highland Urban Trail is the pawrfect place for people and pooches to get in a little extra exercise right within the city limits. You can leave your car at either train station and walk from one point directly to the other.
For a doggone amazing day exploring a puptastic commuter trail, consider spending some time at Crestview/Highland Urban Trail. People and their pooches give it two thumbs up!
