Can you think of a better use of the day then spending time with your pup in the great outdoors? Why not head to the city of El Dorado Hills in sunny California for a bit of a hike? The Dave Moore Nature Area is waiting for your arrival!
You can find the trailhead at the parking lot located at the Nature Area entrance in the heart of Gold Rush Country. The trail is rated as ‘easy,’ and you and your pawtastic pup can hop on the loop and take a 1-mile hike together through beautiful lands on level ground. Formerly a gold mining area, this land still shows remnants of tailing piles from that time long ago.Â
This hike will take you through different area habitats which are home to various plants, trees and shrubs, and lots of wildlife, and ends at the South Fork American River. This nature area was designed to welcome wheelchairs, strollers and even walkers. Those with physical disabilities are encouraged to use this trail to get out and enjoy the fresh air, and relax with nature and the river views surrounding them. The trail is well-maintained and easy on the paws.
This is a day-use-only trail and no bicyclists or horseback riders are allowed. Although there are no fees for accessing or using the nature area trail, donations are much appreciated and allow this hiking trail to remain accessible year-round for all to enjoy. You must bring your own water bottles as there is no potable water available on the property. Restrooms are located at the trailhead for your convenience. Your fur-ever friend must remain on leash throughout your day here, and remember to clean up after them.
The Dave Moore Nature Area offers a fantastic hike on a trail which welcomes people from all ages and all pup-abilities. Visit today and get in some puptastic together time!
