Eolian Dunes Preserve

Pack up your pup and head out for a great hiking adventure at the Eolian Dunes Preserve in gorgeous Seaside, California! There is a great adventure waiting for you two here, so what are you waiting for?

The trails in this area can be accessed by parking at the dedicated parking spots along Metz Road at the intersection of Playa Avenue. The trailhead will take you under the freeway bridge and put you at a choice of three trails. Each are the same length, run parallel to each other and will take you about ½ mile to the same location.

Your hike will be short, but filled with beauty. The preserve covers 28 acres and these trails are a small portion of the larger Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. This area was once a landfill which has now been restored back to its original glory. Your puptastic friend will love walking on the dunes in the sandy footing and will be treated to paths which lead directly to the beach and bay. Open space is plentiful with seagrasses along the path. 

Your pup will love the easy rating these trails offer, and you will love the relaxation this hike provides. For an extra special treat, why not fix a picnic basket to take with you? You can relax on the beach with pup by your side and enjoy lunch. 

Fido must remain on leash here and must be cleaned up after.  Trash receptacles are conveniently located at the parking lot so pack out what you pack in. Restrooms are not available here. Water is also not available here, so be sure to bring filled water bottles with you.
