Description

Need a new place to take your four legged pal? Look no further! The Fanno Creek Greenway Trail is just calling your pup’s name! This pawsome pathway is paved and flat, so it makes for a mellow walk with lovely scenery. Your doggo will love it!

Currently, the trail is divided into two sections. The most eastern section begins at the Garden Home Recreation Center on Oleson Road. Here you will find ample parking and restrooms inside the building. Follow the trail west as it meanders through the surrounding neighborhoods. After a short while, you and your pooch will pass Vista Brook Park. If your pup is in the mood for a detour, stop here so they can check things out. You can also park here and begin your walk from this park. The trail continues westward and follows Fanno Creek until coming to a stop near Highway 217.

The second section of the trail picks up on the west side of Highway 217 on the north end of Fanno Creek Park. Your furry friend will love this green space. Since it surrounds Fanno Creek, it’s a furrific wetland habitat. Keep your eyes peeled for beavers, waterfowl, and songbirds. You may even catch a glimpse of a Pacific tree frog. From Fanno Creek Park, the trail leads into Greenway Park and the adjacent Knoll Center Wetlands Park. If you have some extra time, explore both of these areas.

The last stretch of the trail heads down near Englewood Park, through Dirksen Nature Park, Woodard Park, and comes to an end in the Fanno Creek Park in Tigard.

Before leaving home, be sure to pack a couple clean up bags and lots of water, and don’t forget the trail snacks! There are plenty of woofderful spots to paws for a break. Above all else, have a pawsome time with your pooch!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
