If you’re looking for a pawesome place to take your dog for a stroll, check out Feaster Trail! This 2.5-mile trail welcomes dogs on-leash, and it spans the width of Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Along the way, it passes beautiful parks, local businesses, recreation centers, and medical centers.
The trail begins at Baptist Health Medical Center. From there, the trail travels east through Arkadelphia. As you go along the first part of the trail, you’ll walk through a quiet suburban neighborhood, and you’ll also pass a community recreation center with a pool. One of the first scenic spots you’ll hit is Feaster Park, which is filled with beautiful native trees. After that, you’ll go through a lovely wooded area by Mill Creek.
On the last part of the hike, you’ll walk past a variety of shops and restaurants where you can grab provisions, and you’ll go through both Ouachita Baptist University and Henderson State University’s campuses. The trail ends right outside Henderson State University at a scenic overlook where you’ll get an amazing view of the Ouachita River.
Parking is available in four places along the Feaster Trail: at the Baptist Health Medical Center, 8th Street, 15th Street, and 26th Street. There’s no water available on the trail, so it’s a good idea to bring a bottle or two with you on your hike. Also, be sure to bring some doggy bags with you so you can clean up after your pup while you’re on the trail.
If you’re looking for a fun trail to do with your dog, Feaster Trail is perfect for you! This trail is paved and mostly flat, making it easy for dogs to walk on. It also passes by scenic wooded areas and creeks, providing great views during your hike. Your dog’s tail will wag with excitement when they see this furrific trail!
Water along the trail is limited, so be sure to bring a water bottle or two and your dog’s bowl with you. You’ll also want to bring doggy bags with you on your walk. Some portions of the trail have limited shade, so be sure to keep your dog hydrated while you’re walking through these sections.Â
