Franklin Canyon Park

Kick off those high heels and lace up your sneakers for a fun-filled pawtastic hiking day with your pup at the Franklin Canyon Park in lovely Beverly Hills, California! There is a hiking trail for everyone here!

The fun begins at the trailhead located at the park entrance. Pick a trail and head out! For an easy stroll, choose the Discovery Trail which is rated as easy and perfect for those not-so-agile pups. It is just 0.3 miles long and will offer you and your fur-ever friend a loop through the woods and canyon.

For a bit more exercise, try the Hastain Trail which breaks off into two loops. The lower loop is 2.3 miles long and is rated as moderate. At the 1.8-mile mark, there is a branch that heads to the right, leading you up in elevation and is considered an advanced trail at that point. Taking this branch will add about ½ mile more to your journey. No matter which way you head on this trail, it will offer you spectacular scenery of the Santa Monica Mountains and the Upper Franklin Canyon Reservoir at the top and a large grassy lawn area at the bottom of the canyon.

Next, but not least, your choice of the Berman Trail takes you on a strenuous hike and is best kept for those pups of the highest fitness levels. At just one mile, this dirt single lane trek will challenge most hikers. Native shrub brush will be visible here.

No matter which trail you pick, you will have a great time with your pawtastic pup in the great outdoors. There are restrooms and drinking fountains at the trailhead where you can fill your water bottles. Be sure to take some snacks with you to sustain yourselves throughout your adventure.
