Can you think of a better day than to share it with your fur-ever friend on a hike in the Studio City, California area? Well then, the Fryman Canyon Park is your ticket to fun with Fido!
To start off your day, find the trailhead to the Fryman Canyon Loop Trail where Fryman Road and Laurel Canyon Road intersect, although the main entrance to the park itself is on Mulholland Drive. You will find a parking lot here where you can begin your fur-ific day. The trailhead has a walkthrough gate and an information bulletin board with maps and details about the journey.
This rural hike offers a 3-mile loop trail which is rated as easy to moderate, so it is probably suitable for most pawtastic pups! Also known as the Betty B. Dearing Trail, you will have both natural and paved surfaces and be led on a journey through native brush on either side of the trail, with shaded and unshaded portions. Keep your pup on a leash as you view spectacular sights of the surrounding valley, and Sherman Oaks off in the distance.
The trail is very well-maintained year-round and will be a great spot to hike any season. Native scrub brush is located along either side of the path with wildflowers blooming and trees spotted throughout. Although the trail can be a bit wet after a heavy rain, for the most part, the gentle slope will keep the trail dry.
There are no restrooms located at the trailhead nor in the park, so please plan accordingly. There are no drinking fountains either, so be sure to bring your filled bottles along with you to share with Fido. You and your pup will love the Fryman Canyon Park Trail any day of the year!
