Description

Looking for a fun place to get some exercise and make some fur-iends near Ann Arbor? Give the nature trail at Gallup Park a whirl! This 3.8-mile dog-friendly loop trail is the perfect length for your everyday walking routine!  Asphalt-paved surfaces make this trail excellent for wheelchairs and strollers, ensuring the whole pack can tag along for the adventure. Your canine will be captivated by the sights and smells of the diverse plants and animals that call this park home. The tranquil sound of flowing water and the picturesque views of the Huron River will wash away any case of the working dog blues!

Tubing down the Huron is a favorite activity when the weather is warm; this makes finding a parking spot a bit of a challenge in the summer. Try to arrive early during tubing season. There are many benches along the trail for doggy duos to take a rest or enjoy the scenery. Other amenities, such as picnic tables, grills, restrooms, and water fountains are located towards the center of the park. There are also fishing piers along the river where you can drop a line! Need a little extra canine cardio, or just want to go on a longer adventure? Tackle one of the spur trails! Gallup Park's main trail connects to other trails in the area, making it easy for you and your companion to challenge yourselves!

The park boasts that it's one of the most pawpular recreation areas in town, which makes it perfect for socializing! Trekking the Gallup Park Trail is a favorite activity for dog families, church groups, and school children, so expect to make plenty of friends both two-legged and four on your journey. We know your pup will adore all the extra attention from their fellow trailblazers! Stop in for a stroll -- we promise you won't regret it!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

Cautions & Considerations
You will need to keep your pooch leashed while in the park and on the park trail. Gallup Park connects to the Border-to-Border Trail if you want to lengthen your walk! Make sure you bring baggies to pick up any "presents" your pooch leaves behind.
