Description

Ready for a short and sweet hike near Felton, California that you can complete with you pup? The Graham Hill Trail is just one of many dog-friendly trails to try within the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. This pawticular trail offers visitors a diverse array of pines and oaks, plenty of shade, and lots of photo opportunities of various fungi. Open from dawn to dusk, you and your pup can visit this trail during spring, summer, and fall, as long as you pay entry to the State Park or stay at the Henry Cowell Redwoods Campground. The entrance fee is $10 and buying a trail map is $3, which can really come in handy!

The Graham Hill Trail officially begins via the Pine Trail inside the State Park grounds. The trail runs parallel to Graham Hill Road, hence its name. You'll begin the trail with a gradual descent, after which you will see the above mentioned Henry Cowell Campground. The trail continues for about another mile. Along the way, you'll see trail markers line the dirt-sand pathway with mile indicators next to each trail name.

The trail begins to enter back into the redwood forest zone before ending at the Power Trail, which continues for another 1.4 miles if you wish to lengthen your overall hike. Beyond the Graham Hill Trail is the Powder Trail, and beyond that lies Pipeline Road and Powder Mill Trail.

Overall, the Graham Hill Trail is considered one of the most pleasant and scenic trails. It can get easily congested on weekends in summer, so it's best to go early. Thanks to its short mileage, with the option to hike more or less depending on one's needs, the Graham Hill Trail is a splendid, dog-friendly hike to enjoy with your furry companion, friends or family. Do bring a bottle of water, your best behavior, and don't leave anything but pawprints!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
