Description

Helen Putnam Regional Park rests just outside of Petaluma in California’s Marin and Sonoma counties. Encompassing scenic forests and picturesque grasslands, it spans over 200 acres and features over six miles of trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use. The park’s trails are known for their calm setting, beautiful views, and convenient access to the larger park complex with its playground, pond, and more. And one of the most attractive features of Helen Putnam Regional Park is that you can bring your furry friend with you when you visit!

From the parking lot, you can take one of two routes on the Ridge Trail. One of the trails is paved, and the other is dirt, and they both run parallel between the parking lot and the fish pond. Further into the park is the Panorama Trail. This short trail is the most scenic trail Helen Putnam Regional Park offers, and it provides a view of the surrounding area. You will also find the Helen Putnam Loop in the center of the park. This loop trail offers a scenic walk through nature, and you can find picnic benches at the top of the hill if you want to rest your legs. It is an easy trail to hike as it maintains a low incline, so you’ll definitely want to stop by if you’re in the park.

When visiting any trail, always make sure to follow its guidelines. Helen Putnam Regional Park requires canine companions to remain leashed at all times. The park has furrific amenities — there are restroom facilities and water, and there are also dog bags alongside the trails for your convenience.

You are sure to enjoy your time at Helen Putnam Regional Park — it is one of the best parks in the area, and most importantly, your waggy friend will have a great time too!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
