Description

Hiking anyone? If you are looking for a pup-friendly hike in the city of Crestline, California, head to the Lake Gregory Regional Park. You will be treated to scenic mountain views and you can work in a bit of exercise to your day as well.

Start your hike at the park’s entrance southeast of the lake, and you can catch a free parking space along the San Moritz entrance road. Head down the Lake Gregory Regional Park Trail, also referred to as the Fitness Trail, as this hike offers 10 stations set up as a circuit throughout your hike for training purposes. You are welcome to use the equipment while your pup rests. It is a good place to do some stretching to warm your muscles, especially at the beginning of your hike which circles around the lovely Lake Gregory. Continue this trek with your pawtastic pup for a total of 2.5 miles.

The terrain is almost completely level and suitable for all fitness levels. The footing is made of natural surfaces any pup will be able to navigate. The views are beautiful of Lake Gregory, the Cucamonga Peak of the San Gabriel Mountains and of various park buildings such as their boathouse during your entire journey. These are all picture-worthy and make a nice backdrop for a selfie with Fido! There is a beach where you can watch people frolic in the water, but unfortunately, pups are not allowed to swim there.

The trail is maintained year-round at this 4554-foot elevation in the San Bernardino Mountains. So, there is no excuse not to take your pup for a hike any time he asks! Restrooms are at the park’s entrance as well as drinking fountains. Park requirements are to keep Fido on leash while visiting. Fishing is another pastime which visitors can enjoy here as well.

Lake Gregory is a must-do hike for your check-off list!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
