Though it is recommended that this trail be visited at its prime from March through May, you can stop by any time of year to take your pupperoni for a day of reconnecting with nature. Just be sure to keep your pooch leashed at all times.Â
McMullen Creek Greenway is considered an urban trail. The first 3/4's of a mile is comprised of gravel with the remainder of the walkways composed of asphalt or wooden deck materials. The trails themselves are pawrfect for all kinds of activities from hiking to trail running and even mountain biking!
If you were hoping to get in a picnic lunch, you will be pleased to discover some picnic tables at the trailhead. There are also benches scattered throughout the trail where you can kick back and relax with your best canine pal. Your travels will take you through wooded areas and wetlands, but there are also numerous little detours you can take to enjoy some creek views or even just observing the wildlife that makes this area its home. Bring along your camera to capture some shots of the scenery and animals you come across on your hike.Â
You will need to tote along some drinking water and cleanup bags. Since the trail is long, it is also a good idea to bring something to keep your appetite up; whether it is a packed lunch from home or some snacks.Â
