Description

What could be more perfect than you, your fur-ever friend and the great outdoors? Yosemite National Park in California has the perfect hike for that perfect mix! Mirror Lake Meadow should be tops on your destination list here.

Once you enter the park, drive to the Mirror Lake Meadow parking lot, which is also called Shuttle Stop #17 on the shuttle bus route. Although pups are not allowed on this park’s bus, the signage will point you to the right place. Pick up the trailhead here for a most spectacular hike.

Mirror Lake Meadow offers two trails, a 2-mile round trip out-and-back trail or a 5-mile loop which meanders around the lake’s perimeter. The 2-mile trail runs directly from the parking lot to the lakefront. This path is paved and is handicapped accessible. All pup-abilities will find this hike pawtastic! Bicyclists can utilize this path up until ¼-mile before you reach the lake. Bike racks are located there.

At the end of the paved 2-mile trail, you can access the 5-mile loop. This path will offer continued amazing views of the lake throughout your hike. You and your pup will also cross two bridges as the trail runs along a creek for a portion of the hike. The natural footing makes your journey easy on the paws. Views of the cliffs around the lake are picture-perfect. Both trails are rated as easy to moderate.

Restrooms are located at the trailhead’s parking lot, but you will have to pack your own water. Please clean up after Fido on the trails to keep them pup-friendly. You can access this trail every day of the year.

Be sure to make Mirror Lake Meadow your top destination for a puptastic hike in incredible Yosemite National Park.
