Description

Fuel your excitement for the outdoors with an invigorating hike on the Navarro Point Preserve & Scenic Trail, also known as simply Navarro Point Trail. This breezy loop trail outside of Albion, California offers magnificent ocean and cliff views; after all, it is located on the "Shoreline Highway." While pawpular among those who know it, the Navarro Point Trail offers a relatively-light foot traffic path and is open for exploring all-year long. Parking is available just off the highway, and is clearly visible and marked.

Above anything else, the Navarro Point Trail attracts visitors in search of colorful wildflowers and sweeping ocean views high up on the Northern cliffs just beyond the wide mouth of the Navarro River. Sounds appealing, right? But hikers beware - this hike does have steep cliffs, so do not let your pup off the leash for any reason. Safety first! Watch your step and all will go smoothly. You'll be able to enjoy a plethora of blooming wildflowers in every color of the rainbow during springtime.

The area offers majestic landscapes as you hike. Take advantage of the oppawtunity to enjoy a bit of birding as the area is frequented by many bird species and lots of little critters. Woof in the fresh ocean air as you hike along the ridge, paying attention to not get too close to the edge. It's best to stick strictly to the marked path. Bikers also share this lovely hike, so be courteous of fellow explorers such as yourself! Some benches are provided along the trail, providing a place to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, apart from your panting pup!

The Navarro Point Reserve & Scenic Trail truly lives up to its title. This scenic little hike will fill you with a sense of wonder and tranquility. Be sure to bring water with you for the hike, and pack out everything you pack in, including your pup's waste. Enjoy your hike with Fido!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

Cautions & Considerations
Please be aware that this trail lines the cliffside looking out over the ocean. Be mindful of where you step and remember that dogs are allowed on-leash only. It is too risky to let your pup wander off-leash due to slippery rocks and steep cliffs.
