Quail Hill

Outdoors, here we come! You and your pawtastic pup are in for a treat at the Irvine Open Space Preserve in Irvine, California where you will find a pawtastic hike in the Quail Loop Trail. The Irvine Open Space Preserve offers several trails, but this is the only trail within this system that is pup-friendly, so you can enjoy spending time with your fur-ever friend!

You will begin your hike where Sand Hill Road ends and will continue through the area's southern wilderness for 1.8 miles. The surface is naturally paved with dirt and well-maintained year-round and is suitable to push a stroller. It is just perfect for all pup-abilities no matter what your fitness level. You will be treated to the earth’s natural beauty of wildflowers and blooming plants as you take your stroll. 

Another unique feature is the ability to listen to an audio tour as you meander through this hike, accessible by a cell phone call. It couldn’t be easier than dialing a number and getting a private, informational tour. Just keep Fido informed of the cool things you will discover along the way! 

Make sure to keep your fur-ever friend on leash as it is a requirement, and clean up after them to keep this trail pup-friendly. There are restrooms at the trailhead, but be sure to pack plenty of water. Shade is found throughout, and there are benches to sit and do some people watching while Fido rests his paws. This trail is moderately busy so you should have plenty of room to enjoy some quiet time in nature.

Although this trail is just off a major freeway, you will feel close to nature here with your pup by your side. Quail Hill Loop Trail is THE pup-tastic place to be in Irvine.
