Is your pup is looking for a pawtastic hike with their fantastic friend? Look no further than the Santiago Creek Bike Trail in the city of Orange, California. This bike trail is the perfect hiking trail for you and Fido to enjoy spending some quality time together.
No matter what your pup’s fitness level, they will enjoy this hike. Pick up this trail at the Hart Park, which provides parking. The trail runs for 7.6 miles alongside the Santiago Creek to Cannon Street through suburban areas. It is completely level and paved with an asphalt or concrete surface, is accessible the handicapped and welcomes all pups. You will see hikers, walkers, skaters and bicyclists here having a great time.
A portion of the trail was a former 1900’s railroad line which was converted to a hiking/biking trail and then extended. It passes through Grijalva and Yorba Parks where you can also hop on the trail, as well as the Santiago Regional Park. You will enjoy scenic views and plenty of places to rest your weary feet and Fido’s tired paws. There are benches on the path and the parks offer many places to stop as well.
Shade trees can be found throughout your hike, perfect to offer a cool place to get out of the hot summer sun. If you want to extend your hike or change up your route, there are spurs to this trail you can connect with.Â
Be sure to pack plenty of water for your outing to share with your fur-ever friend although there are drinking fountains in the various parks to fill up your bottles. Keep this trail pup-friendly by bringing mutt mitts to clean up after Fido.a
