Sorich Ranch Park

Are you and your pup wanting to take a break and get out into the fresh air? The city of San Anselmo, California has just what you are looking for. Pack up your pup and head to the Sorich Ranch Park located here. This is a pup-tastic hiking spot near the city, but it seems so far away from it all.

Pick up the Sorich Ranch Park Trail right from the parking lot at the main entrance to the park.  You can begin and end your 2.1-mile loop adventure here. The trail winds you through a forest with eucalyptus trees and grassland areas, making for spectacular scenery along the way.  Boasting a natural path throughout your journey, the hike is considered perfect for those somewhat experienced hikers. It is rated as moderate as it is a continual ascent to the top.

Once you reach the summit, you are in for a treat! Views of San Francisco are gorgeous here and you can take a pic of the bay and the city of San Rafael as well! Be sure to let your pup rest and relax a bit after this climb! On your way back down, the descent is very easy – just watch your footing on the switchback areas.

For a treat after your pawtastic hike, why not sit at the trailhead under the shade of the gazebo? It is the perfect place to rest your weary feet (and paws!) and share a picnic lunch. There are no restroom or water facilities located anywhere on the property, so plan accordingly. This is a lightly-traveled path, so you can expect some quiet time with your fur-ever friend. Be sure to keep your pup on leash.
