The Stream Trail can be accessed from two staging areas: the Skyline Gate Staging Area, or the Canyon Meadow Staging Area. The Skyline Gate entrance will bring you mostly downhill while beginning at Canyon Meadow offers a slight incline (and takes ruff-ly 15 minutes longer to complete). In either case, be pawpared to marvel at 150-foot tall old redwood trees! From the Canyon Meadow Staging Area, the first mile of the Stream Trail is paved, offering wheelchair access. However, you will see a "Trail Ends" sign and a quaint picnic area. This is where the Stream Trail turns into a dirt path, and where the scenery becomes much more beautiful. Continue following the well-marked trail deep into the dense, old growth redwood groves. The trail is very pawpular, but there are more quiet pockets along the path to enjoy the scenery with your furiend.
Several options trails, such as Eucalyptus Trail, Fern Trail, French Trail, and more, link to the Stream Trail. This gives you and your pup the flexibility to journey further into the Redwood Regional Park. Otherwise, the main Stream Trail offers a straight-forward, scenic path that's just as beautiful and rewarding. Take advantage of this pawsome opportunity to enjoy birding and spotting species like squirrels, golden eagles, slugs, newts, and more! Restrooms and trash cans can be found definitively at either Staging Area. Remember to keep the park clean and dog waste free!
