Table Rock Lakeshore Trail is a great spot to stretch your legs, just 10 miles from the popular tourist town of Branson. The trail is part of the Table Rock State Park and, as the name suggests, it runs along the shoreline, making it a furrific place to spot wildlife such as turtles, ospreys, and even bald eagles! Just over 2 miles in length, this course makes for a leisurely stroll that is almost entirely shaded by tree canopy. Since the path runs parallel to the lake, it is excellent for those who enjoy swimming and fishing, as well. This multi-use trail begins near the Dewey Short Visitor Center and comes to an end at the State Park Marina, where the Branson Showboat is docked. Even though this is a favorite walking spot for locals, finding a parking space shouldn’t be an issue with lots located at both trailheads.
The diverse landscape, including marshes and forest, adds another level of excitement to the walk, keeping pups engaged with a delightful assortment of stimulating sights and smells! Since this trail is both paved and flat, it is perfect for dog families who require special accommodations such as wheelchairs and strollers. Park rules state pooches must remain leashed during their visit and dog parents should take care of any waste Fido leaves behind (be sure to bring bags!). There are restrooms and water access at the trailhead near the visitor’s center, and another bathroom located at the other trailhead near the marina. Weekday mornings tend to be less busy than weekend afternoons, so you may want to consider going early if your companion is a bit timid! No matter if your pack is local or just in town to visit, your family will love the beauty and convenience of this trail!
